Dauphin, Manitoba

On June 23, 2014 at 8:06 a.m., Dauphin RCMP received a call for a break and enter to the Dauphin Veterinary Clinic at 1801 Main Street south.  The front door window was smashed to gain entry.  Once inside, random drawers were gone through.  Police attended and viewed the scene, there were visible footprints on the side walkway of the building and inside the building from the mud.  There were also quad tracks leading from the south side of the building into the farmers field.  No suspects have been identified to date and there was no surveillance footage available at the time of the break in.

Just before 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, the Subway Restaurant, located at 204 Main Street South, Dauphin, Manitoba was broken into. The main entrance door glass was smashed by a person who was wearing a black hoodie with a white emblem on the hood, black track pants with two white stripes on the legs, black sneakers with white soles, work gloves, and a covering over their face.

Dauphin Municipal RCMP Detachment are investigating three suspicious fires that were reported after 11:00 p.m. on May 18, 2014. Within the span of about half an hour, RCMP and the local fire department responded to two car fires and one dumpster fire: a car fire on 5th Avenue S.W., a car fire on 1st Street N.W., and a dumpster fire on 1st Avenue N.E

Sometime during he night of Monday, march 24th, 2014, the Oil Depot on Buchannon Avenue in Dauphin, Manitoba was broken into.  Entrance to the building was made by breaking a window.  A number of items were stolen from hte business, including a 22 cal rifle, a 10 gauge shotgun and a quantity of cash

On March 31, 2014, just before 6:00 p.m., a motorist was flagged down on Highway 5, approximately 10 kilometers west of Dauphin, Manitoba. A man approached the female motorist's vehicle saying he was in possession of pantyhose and a condom. He then attempted to strike up a conversation. The woman was able to drive away. 

The following day, a similar incident was reported to the Dauphin RCMP. A woman was sitting in her vehicle on 1st Avenue N.E. in Dauphin when she was approached by a man who stated he sells women’s pantyhose. 

The man is described as being in his thirties with light hair. He was wearing a black coat with dark pants and was driving a white newer-model truck.

On Tuesday the 18th of March, 2014, a theft occurred at the Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School.   A silver, 32 Gig, 5th generation I Pod was stolen from a change room while a student participated in a class.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5th, 2014, occupants of a home on Brown Ave. E. in Dauphin Manitoba returned to their home to find a garbage bin on fire in their back yard.  The fire which had been deliberately set, destroyed the bin and damaged an adjacent deck before it was extinguished.

Officers from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP detachment received a report of an attempted Armed Robbery that occurred Tuesday evening around 10:30 p.m. A man who was walking down a lane off 7th Avenue N.E. was approached by a male who demanded he turn over his money. The man complied with the demand as the suspect was armed with what appeared to be a knife. The suspect is described as being approximately 5'9" tall, slim build, and dressed in black clothing.

On Thursday, November 14, 2013, around 2:30 a.m., the Subway Restaurant, located on Main Street S., Dauphin, Manitoba was broken in to by smashing a window on the south side of the building. Surveillance video showed the break in was done by one person who was dressed in black pants, white shoes and a white and black coat with red stripes on the sleeves and across the front. A quantity of cash was stolen from the restaurant.

Around 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2013, a robbery occurred in Dauphin, Manitoba. A lone male entered the bar of a Main Street business, approached an employee, and demanded money. The suspect was able to grab a quantity of cash and then flee the building. He was last seen running north from the building. The suspect is described as being approximately 20-25 years of age, six feet tall, and was wearing gloves, a bandana, and a hoodie. No one was injured during this robbery.

Sometime during the night of Wednesday, October 23, 2013, a camo colored 2013 John Deere, model RSX850i UTV was stolen from Reit-Syd Farm Equipment, Dauphin, Manitoba. The vehicle was taken from the lot after a chain securing it was cut. A cube van was seen in the vicinity and may have been used during the theft.

Sometime during the early morning of Saturday, September 14th, 2013, gas was stolen from the service station in Dauphin Manitoba.  Staff at the Main St. business, discovered that more then 300 litres had been stolen from the underground storage tanks.

Sometime during the night of Friday, September 13th, 2013, a grain truck was stolen from a property on Whitmore Avenue, Dauphin Manitoba.  The 1978 Ford Louisville has a white cab with a blue box.  The truck was recovered the following morning when investigators located it parked on 4th Avenue S.E. Around 4:30 a.m. July 9th, 2013 a robbery occurred in Dauphin Manitoba.  A woman was walking in the 300 block of Main Street South when she was approached from behind, pushed tot he ground and robbed of her purse.  Her attacker is described as a male with a beard, and was wearing a dark coloured shirt and a black ball cap.

On June 27th, 2013 workers at a cellular tower site east of Dauphin discovered a number of cables had been damaged.  Investigators believe the cables had been shot with a small caliber firearm which damaged the protective casing on the cables.  It is believed that the damage was caused sometime within the preceding month.

On Wednesday May 8th, 2013 just before 5:30 a.m. firefighters and police were dispatched to a vehicle on fire in the back lane of the 400 block of Main Street, South in Dauphin Manitoba.  Firefighters extinguished the fire but not before extensive damage had been done.  Investigators determined that a van had been recently stolen from a home on the Shoal River Indian Reserve and had then been deliberately set on fire.

During the early morning hours of Friday, January 11th, 2013, a break and enter occurred at a dwelling unit on Whitmore Ave. West in Dauphin, Manitoba.  Someone gained entrance to one of the rooms and stole tobacco and a wallet while the tenant was sleeping.  In addition, a fire extinguisher was discharged in the hallway outside the same room.

While walking to the TD bank in Dauphin, Manitoba, on November 18th, 2012, a women was robbed by two males.  It was a Sunday evening around 11:30 p.m. and the incident occurred in the parking lot of the bank.  The first suspect is described as being native, approximately 5'8", with a skinny build and having black hair in a ponytail.  The second suspect is described as being native, approximately 6'0" with a thick build and  brush cut style dark hair.  After the attack the injured woman started to make her way on foot to the hospital until a passing motorist stopped and gave her a ride.

Around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday December 22nd, 2012 a delivery van was stolen from Western Bakery in Dauphin Manitoba.  A male wearing a red sweater,, was seen driving the van from the rear of the bakery.  The van was recovered a few hours later on PR 481 south of Crane River, Manitoba after it had been abandoned on the side of the road.

Sometime during the month of October, 2012, 6 Prairie Bison were stolen from a farm located approximately 5 kilometers northwest of Ochre River Manitoba.  The animals were between 1 and 2 years old were most likely taken during the first 2 weeks of the month.  The value of the theft is estimated to be in excess of $6,000.

During the summer and fall of 2012, the City of Dauphin, Manitoba saw an increase in property crimes.  In particular, there was a marked increase in the number of mischiefs to and thefts from vehicles.  Throughout the City, parked vehicles had windows broken or were entered through unlocked doors.  Small items such as GPS units, cell phones, portable music players and change were stolen.

Sometime during the evening of Friday, August 10, 2012, the Sears store in Dauphin, Manitoba was broken into.  The break-in was discovered the following morning after staff arrived for work.  A hold had been made in a wall of the store and a number of televisions were stolen. At 2:35 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2012 an alarm was set off at Coffee Creations on Main Street South, Dauphin, Manitoba.  Officers from the Dauphin RCMP responded to the alarm and discovered that a window had been smashed and that the culprits had fled the scene.

On October 31, 2012, a motorcycle was stolen from a home in the 200 block of Davidson Avenue West, Dauphin, Manitoba. The theft occurred between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.. The motorcycle is described as a 2003 Harley Davidson Softail, 100th Anniversary Edition, black in color. The estimated value of the motorcycle is $50,000.00.

At boat and trailer were stolen from a business on Main Street in Dauphin, Manitoba at the end of August 2012.  It is believed that the theft occurred between the 27th of August and the 1st of September.  The boat is a 1996 Silver Liner open bow, blue and white in color with a 50 HP Yamaha outboard.  The trailer is silver in color and is a yacht Club boat trailer

On Wednesday September 5th 2012, a dirt bike was stolen from a home on Johnson Street in Dauphin, Manitoba.  Around 300 a.m. a resident of the home was awakened by a noise in their garage and when they went to check, found the bike was missing.  The motorcycle is a 2004 blue Yamaha model 125TTR

During the noon hours of Tuesday August 14th, 2012, a number of picnic tables were removed from the Sportsplex area of Vermillion park.  The tables had been left in the morning in a protected area for an upcoming ball tournament.  When staff returned, they discovered the tables were missing and some posts had been damaged as well.  The tables are constructed with a wood top and metal frame.

Dauphin RCMP report that the site of the new Gilbert Plains landfill, located in the rural Municipality of Gilbert Plains and while still under construction, was broken into sometime during the night of February 16, 2012.  Locks on the entrance gate, equipment trailer and job shack were cut.  A quantity of clothing and numerous hand and power tools were stolen from the site.

Sometime during the night of Thursday, July 12th, 2012 a break and enter occurred at the Ukraina Community Hall in Ukraina Manitoba.   Staff had been at the hall around 3:00 p.m. and when they returned the following morning, discovered the break -in.  A safe and a quantity of confectionary items were stolen from inside the hall.

Around 5:00 a.m. on Monday July 16th, 2012, a young man was approached by another young man who demanded he turn over his valuables.  As the suspect indicated he was holding something behind his back, the victim handed over his cell phone and some loose change.  The incident  occurred near the north end of the Marketplace parking lot in Dauphin.  The suspect is described as   being approx. 6 feet tall, skinny build and around 18 years of age.  He was wearing a black jacket and black sweat pants at the time
