How to submit a tip?
Our site is a work in progress and we are continually revising, updating and adding information.
***If you are aware of a serious unsolved crime that is not currently highlighted on this site, please contact the investigating police agency. All crimes posted on this site are done in consultation with the investigator involved. ***
When a crime is committed, you can provide your tip information the following three ways;
CALL:
Call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), our toll-free tip line, any time day or night. Crime Stoppers takes information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Crime Stoppers tip line is staffed by trained personnel who receive, process, and pass on tip information to investigating officers.
Calls are not recorded and Crime Stoppers does not have call display, guaranteeing that your identity remains anonymous.
When you call the Crime Stoppers tip line, you are given a tip number. You can add new information to your tip anytime by quoting your tip number. YOU initiate all contact with Crime Stoppers and it is up to you to call back to check on the status of the information you provided (using your tip number).
After 4 – 6 weeks,you can call back to the 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) number during the day, refer to your tip number and you will be updated as to the progress of your tip.Once the investigation is complete, we can tell you the results of your tip and whether you qualify for an award. If your tip leads to the crime being solved, you will qualify for a cash award which can be claimed with your tip number.
PROVIDE A TIP ONLINE:
Along with our 1-800-222 (TIPS) line, tipsters can report information about any non-urgent illegal activity, via our secure Web Tips application (Anderson Software). Tips submitted through this website are encrypted, entirely confidential, and completely anonymous. You can use any Submit a tip button on our site, located with each incident listed and on our home page.
PROVIDE A TEXT TIP:
Tipsters can submit anonymous tips via text message (SMS - Short Message Service) from cell phones. Your messages are encrypted and routed through several secure servers, protecting your anonymity. The Crime Stoppers program receives only the content of the text message and a Tipster ID assigned by Anderson Software. Crime Stoppers will be able to reply back to you without knowing your true identity or cell phone number.
